Listed Buildings & Conservation Areas
Also often known as ‘Heritage Assets’ these individual buildings and areas have specific restrictions to protect them. It is imperative to have an understanding of the history of these buildings and environments, which helps ensure that any proposed development enhances and protects them for future generations to come. By understanding the history of these assets, we can respond to a design brief with an appropriate bespoke solution which respects the history of the asset, while often giving it a new lease of life. These design solutions can take many forms that may be in keeping with the traditional form of the setting or possibly provide a contemporary solution which contrasts but complements the original asset. We have experience in submission for complex and sensitive sites which relate to Listed Buildings and that fall within a Conservation Area where design is particularly important and the understanding of relevant planning policy is imperative to gain a positive outcome. We have been involved in projects which involve restoration, extensions and alterations to Listed Buildings and the provision of new buildings within a Conservation Area.
